New Special Open Enrollment Begins February 15th!

A special open enrollment for Affordable Care Act (ACA) Health Insurance Plans on the healthcare marketplace will begin on February 15th and end on May 15th 2021.  Usually, open enrollment is only during the end of the year from November 1st to December 15th.  This special enrollment has come in response to the Covid Pandemic.

This special enrollment will allow people to enroll in ACA plans on the Federal marketplace exchange for their state.  You can find information regarding the health insurance plans available at www.healthcare.gov. 

Here is some information regarding ACA plans.  ACA plans can not deny coverage due to pre-existing health conditions.  Also, ACA plans are required to offer the following 10 essential benefits:

1. Maternity

2. Mental Health/Substance Abuse

3. Prescriptions

4. Hospitalization

5. ER

6. Ambulatory services

7. Labs

8. Preventative & Wellness

9. Rehabilitative services

10. Pediatric services.

Also, ACA plans could offer tax credits to lower the cost depending on your expected income for 2021.

You can enroll yourself on healthcare.gov during the open enrollment period, or you can have a licensed certified agent help you with enrollment for no additional fee.
